Welcome

This site is dedicated to helping you get the most from a visit to the 1888 steel railway tressel reinvented as the worlds longest pedestrian bridge. Since opening in October 2009 the reinforced, concrete surfaced 1.3 mile scenic Walkway Over the Hudson has attracted more than 750,000 visitors from all around the world. Facing south you view the Mid-Hudson Bridge (aka The FDR Bridge) and looking down you'll see the Poughkeepsie Train Station. Facing north, 212 feet above the tidal Hudson River, you view Marist College and the Catskill Mountains.
We feature a Photo Tour of the Walkway, labeled Panoramas, and lists of local restaurants, hotels, parks, etc. Please contact us if you'd like to be on our lists or would like to provide helpful advice to improve the site. Thanks. And get out there soon to stroll, jog, bike, or rollerblade the Walk!
